The long-anticipated trailer for the upcoming movie Birds of Prey was finally released on October 1, 2019. Many DC fans are excited for when the film goes to theaters on February 7, 2020. The trailer gives fans a sneak peek as to what the movie will hold, without giving away any major spoilers.

One grand spoiler that fans will definitely think the most tragic, Joker and Harley Quinn broke up. During the trailer, you see Harley Quinn throwing knives at a picture of the Joker while saying “Joker and I broke up.” This caused quite a buzz on social media and many fans were left in shock while others were not very surprised.

Comparing to other DC movies featuring Joker and Harley Quinn’s relationship, you never get a thorough view of their relationship. Since many fans do not get a total view of their relationship portrayed on the screen, it does not affect many fans watching the movie that they broke up. Some fans don’t even care that they broke up.

Throughout the trailer you see bright pops of color in contrast to many dark and grimy areas. The trailer makes many references to famous films including Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend in the 1953 classic Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. While viewing the trailer, fans can notice the physical changes Harley Quinn has endured, such as her shorter, iconic red and blue pigtails.

Some fans and trailer watchers have deemed this movie as a feminist favorite, exclaiming the fact that Harley Quinn is seen working with many other women of her kind. The movie is based on the comic book series Birds of Prey written by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon and directed by Cathy Yan. This movie seems like it will be a favorite amongst all DC fans!
