Bowling Starts Season with an Undefeated Record
Rolling in undefeated and knocking down whoever they come across, our Ferguson bowling team stands triumphant at a score of 4-0.
“We faced multiple losses of seniors, only having the two returning seniors Gabriel Bellon with a returning average of 185 and Kevin Delgado, and four more returning bowlers, but we just got a new batch of freshmen and I feel like they can carry the future of the team,” said Coach Richard Bellon. The youth movement is running in Ferguson, as teams such as TERRA, Columbus, and Coral Reef still have a relatively upperclassmen team.
To this point, it has benefitted them well as their already seasoned seniors have gelled well with their new standouts.
“We have a pretty solid all-around team; we have a freshman who has bowled a 200 so far. Individually, I have stayed around 150 so I know if I improve it will lead to more wins,” said junior Ethan Aguililla.
In a year plagued by Covid, most of the teams they have played against have been impacted in terms of their numbers, so they haven’t been able to face a full team and they haven’t been able to see their full potential, but given the circumstances they are still thriving.
“I think our chances are pretty good to make it through to states as long as we do what we need to do, and f we do well in the youth fair tournament which is coming up on October 8th, it’ll set us up for states and I really think we have a good chance to making it to states,” said Coach Bellon.
