The Senior Breakfast Club
On the morning of Friday, the 23rd, 2018, seniors at John A. Ferguson took a class trip to the Rusty Pelican located in Southeast Florida, Key Biscayne to celebrate the work they have had to endure while in high school and giving them a break from all the stress they have had to go through. This event lets seniors enjoy themselves and have breakfast with their friends who’ve faced the toughest challenges of high school along with them.
Seniors spent their time conversing amongst each other and making the most of the last few moments of their high school careers. “The scenery was beautiful, and the food was fantastic,” stated senior Natalia Arencibia.
There was a hypnotist at the event to entertain the students on their trip. “The hypnotist that was there kept us on our toes while making our friends hypnotized and it was something that I would love to do again if I could,” said Senior Andrea Baez-Perez.
Seniors also had the opportunity to run for superlatives. They showcased themselves by posting advertisements on their social media accounts and taping flyers on the walls at John A. Ferguson. Some of the superlatives included were: Inseparable Seniors, Cutest Couple, Mr. & Mrs. Ferguson, Most Spirited, Most Likely to be Your Boss, Athletic King or Queen, and Most Techy. “I ran for Most Techy and won because I spend all my time on my phone and my laptop so I’m always online,” stated Senior Isabella Garcia.
Senior Breakfast is always a successful event for seniors as they get to distance themselves from all their school work and it allows them to shift their minds to a relaxed morning with peers they’ve grown with throughout high school. “It was a nice morning to have where I’m able to sit down with close friends and just talk, make jokes, and fool around,” stated Senior Andrea Baez-Perez. This day will always be a day where seniors are able to remember and look back at throughout their life.
