George H.W. Bush in Intensive Care

A day after the funeral of his recent wife, former president George H.W. Bush was taken to intensive care on April 21st, Sunday morning. On April 23rd Bushes spokesman, Jim McGrath tweeted a statement by the Office of George H.W. Bush. The statement indicates that Bush was “… admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital … after contracting an infection that spread to his blood”. Many people even wonder if Bush contracted Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy, also known as “Broken Heart syndrome”.

Bush is said to be recovering and expected to leave Houston Methodist Hospital early Friday morning. Bush also tweeted early Wednesday morning thanking Houston’s Mayor, Sylvester Turner and “his terrific staff” for making all the guests feel welcomed during his wife’s funeral.

Bush’s second son, Jeb Bush also had something to say regarding his father’s health. On a visit to Brown University this Wednesday, Jeb Bush stated that his father is “stronger than an ox”. Jeb also described his father as “the greatest man alive”.
