Falcons Make the Cage Burst With School Spirit

The Falcon’s cage was bursting with emotion, excitement, and school spirit as the Ferguson Falcons stepped into the court for a night that meant more than just the final score. On Friday, January 30^th, Ferguson’s varsity basketball team played against the Goleman Gators, while the Ferguson cheerleading seniors were honored for their senior night celebration. The audience was full of high energy, applauding and recognizing years of dedication from the graduating class. 

The Falcons maintained a strong performance and great teamwork throughout the entire match, staying competitive from start to finish. Ferguson ended up securing the win with a final score of 77-74, refusing to let the close score slow their momentum. “I’m very proud of the team, this was a big win for us, and I’m glad we stepped up when we needed to,” says senior Omari Solomon. 

The atmosphere remained electric as the cheerleader’s senior night was celebrated. Leading the crowd with enthusiasm, motivating the team, and encouraging the school spirit, the audience honored the senior cheerleaders for their years of dedication and commitment. “I was very emotional but also proud of our team for the hard work we’ve put in since the start,” says senior Sophie Serrano. The Falcons persistence, combined with the cheer team’s leadership, made the night shine from start to finish. 

Coming up next, the Falcons basketball team prepares for their district tournament from February 3^rd to 7^th. As the season moves forward, the support from the cheerleaders who have energized the crowd throughout the years will remain an important and memorable part of these games.
