Falcons Show Grit in Varela Matchup
The Ferguson Falcons took the field in a battle that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats from start to finish. On Tuesday, September 2nd, Ferguson’s varsity football team played against the Varela Vipers.
The game took place at Varela High School, and students from both sides showed up ready to support their teams. The matchup remained close throughout the game, with both teams relying on strong defensive plays. The game closed with a final score of 13-6, with the winning team being Varela. The Falcons managed to reach the end zone once, scoring 6 points by the fourth quarter, while the Vipers scored 7 points in the first quarter and 6 points by the fourth quarter.
“Even though we lost to Varela, we’ve been putting in the work, and I’m excited to face Westland on Friday,” says sophomore William Valdes. While the Falcons might have come up short, the effort they put in stands out. Ferguson’s next game will take place on Friday, September 5th, against Westland High.
The Falcons and the Vipers have a history of playing against each other, with each team having its own share of wins and losses. Both sides demonstrated determination throughout the night, maintaining high energy from the start to the final whistle.
