Ferguson Sweeps South Dade in Straight Sets
The Ferguson Falcons varsity volleyball team defeated South Dade 3–0 in Tuesday night’s home game. The Falcons started strong and won the first set 25–9, establishing early control. They maintained their momentum in the second set, finishing with a 25–18 victory. South Dade tried to rally in the third, but Ferguson stayed ahead and completed the sweep with a 25–19 win.
“It felt great to be out there and help my team,” sophomore Samantha Olivia said. “We wanted to play strong from start to finish, and that’s what we did.”
Ferguson played well overall, maintaining good ball control and showing discipline. Isabella Mela contributed to serve receive, while Katie Aguirre provided solid defense in the back row. Powerful serving and effective teamwork at the net made it difficult for South Dade to catch up.
“We all worked hard and stayed focused,” sophomore Katie Aguiree said. “I think our teamwork really showed in this game.”
