FFEA Inspiring Other Through Book Drive
The Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA) are currently organizing a book drive at Ferguson. The book drive will serve as a way to collect books for children in need of these resources. Through this, the FFEA and the students at the school are involving themselves in important causes.
“This is being organized by our club but the whole school can participate and donate books,” said Mia Rivera, president of the FFEA.
Mia is the one organizing the event along with Mrs. Slater and the rest of the FFEA members. “We at Ferguson have books and have the capacity to afford them. But, these kids… they don’t have the opportunity to obtain books so easily.” The books go to schools who are financially struggling and are given to students there.
“I think this is important because books are a really important part of our lives and there are many children who don’t have the possibility to buy books so it’s great that we as a school can provide books for them,” stated Briana Pineda, secretary of the FFEA.
The club dedicates itself to the importance of education and everlasting influence on students. Through their activities, FFEA fights for their cause, and with this drive, they support their beliefs and find a way to get others at school involved.
To donate, visit room 803 where they are collecting the books. The books go to the organization, the Children’s Trust, at the end of the day where they are then distributed to the schools and children. FFEA is collecting through the next months until their bin is full.
