Step Up for a Cause: Join the Breast Cancer Walk
October may be famous for Halloween and its spooky festivities, but it is also recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, individuals and organizations join together to raise awareness, with Ferguson being one of those honoring these brave fighters.
The annual Breast Cancer Walk will take place this Friday during the 3rd period, and students are excited to participate in this impactful event. Ferguson is doing a wonderful service by encouraging students to get active and support those diagnosed with breast cancer. Students have various reasons for taking part, from raising awareness to supporting a loved one affected by the disease.
Clearly, breast cancer is a serious matter that impacts many lives, which is why this walk is more than just an opportunity to spend time with friends—it’s a chance to honor survivors and remember those we’ve lost. To join this meaningful cause, you should have purchased the breast cancer awareness shirt on OSP for $15, available from October 8-16.
If you can’t participate in the walk this Friday, there’s still a way to show your support by joining the upcoming United Way Spirit Week. Spirit Week takes place next week with fun themes like Wicked Wednesday and Dream in Pink Monday, costing $2 per day or $7 for the entire week. Don’t miss the chance to get creative and let’s show support for all our Falcons walking for a cause this Friday.
