Weekly Recap: Girls Volleyball Result with Both Win and Loss
On Wednesday, September 11th, the girls volleyball team went head-to-head against the Miami High Stingarees, dominating in all three sets.
The Falcons won the first set of the game 25-16. They carried that streak into the second set, securing a 25-11 with ease.
“In the game against Miami High, we played good and the energy was really high up.” Sophomore Melissa Chirino, varsity opposite hitters, comments.
During their last set, the Falcons also dominated the final set by twelve points, winning 25-13. The Falcons delivered a defeat to the Stingarees, adding another loss to their six-game season.
Despite their win, the girls always look for new ways to improve on their performance.
“Things we can improve on are our communication skills to work better as a team.” Chirino continues.
The Falcons also went up against the St. Brendan Sabres on Friday, September 13th, but were unfortunately defeated. Despite losing in all three sets, the girls did not go down without a fight.
“Although we did not get the results we wanted, I saw a lot of good things to build off.” Coach Benitez says. “We are going to refine things in practice.”
Although the Falcons did not get the win against St. Brenden, they are still holding their heads high and are looking to build off their successes to move forward. Go out and support the Falcons against Terra on September 20th at 7:30 in the cage.
