The Wait for NCAA College Football Games is Over

The news still does not feel real. One week ago, EA Sports announced via Twitter that they were bringing back college football video games. As of now, the release date has not been announced for the game, however a developer from EA did say their target for a release is 2 to 3 years. The reason social media exploded when this announcement went live is because people cherish these games. The franchise was discontinued in 2013 with the last installment being NCAA Football 14. The franchise unfortunately came to an end due to the NCAA’s rules on players earning any profit at all. EA would be sued over using players likeness in the games and on the covers so they decided it would be much easier to end the franchise. Luckily for us, starting this year college athletes will be able to earn a profit off the use of their likeness. To put into perspective the power and influence of these games, NCAA Football 14 was released on July 9th, 2013. To this day, it currently sells at its cheapest value $30-45 and some copies on eBay  for $750. Many find it incredible how an 8-year-old game is still popular and widely played by YouTubers. It is a huge deal college football games are coming back. For now, fans just have to hope EA does not mess this up like they tend to do most games.
