Ferguson vs. Southwest

The Falcons yet again take home another dub! With one last insane play for the night, they ended up winning by 27-26, leaving them with an overall 5-3 record. They ended Southwest’s homecoming game in devastation. Now our Falcons are getting ready for the playoffs!

Senior, Javier Cifuentes caused the fumble, leaving them with the ball with eight seconds left on the clock. Then senior, Aden Seara threw the ball to senior Marcel Villafane, who caught the ball and secured the win by only one crucial point.

He caught the game-winner, resulting in the crowd erupting with shock.

“The moment I caught the ball, my mind went blank,” said Villafane. “After I caught it, everyone was jumping on top of me. I felt relieved and happy that we won a game that we were fighting so hard to win.”

This play was flawlessly executed. Everyone was hyped up and excited as all the players poured out their hearts on the field.

“In the last eight seconds we pulled through and won. It was such an amazing experience being able to cheer on the sidelines and feel the joy of everyone there that night,” shared cheerleader and sophomore, Bryanna Picado.

The energy on the field that night was something many of us will never forget.

“It was amazing, they never gave up and played right to the very last second,” said Coach Chew. “The last play of the night is definitely the top five in my career,” he added happily.

As previously mentioned, the Falcons have clinched a spot in the playoffs and hope to continue having an amazing season. The schedule has not yet been released, so we’re all patiently waiting to find out. Best of luck to them in the playoffs!
