Welcoming New Faces to Ferguson

A brand-new school year is here, and with it come not only fresh opportunities but also new faces! This year, we are excited to welcome several new staff members who will play a crucial role in strengthening, enriching, and enhancing our school community. From student wellness to activities and even graduation prep, these new team members are here to help us succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

First, let’s give a warm welcome to our new school nurse and assistant nurse. The head nurse, Mr. Fader, is a trained nurse who recently transferred from Sunset Senior High School. His main goal for studying in the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital program was to always help students and encourage them to prioritize their health. His main advice is to always strive to stay healthy mentally and physically.

Health and safety are always top priorities, and having two new staff members who will be here to make sure we are treated with caution and dedicated to student wellness is a big plus. Whether it’s helping with a stomachache, an injury at practice, or making sure students have what they need to be treated with care, our nurses are here to support us every step of the way. Their friendly presence will make the nurse’s office a safe and welcoming space, and they are eager to get to know the student body.

Next, we’re excited to introduce our new activities advisor, Mrs. Amaro. School is about more than just academics; it’s about creating memories, friendships, and experiences that last a lifetime. Our activities advisor will be at the center of that, helping students get involved, stay engaged, and discover new passions. From planning pep rallies and dances to organizing clubs, with JH and community service opportunities, the activities advisor is ready to bring energy and creativity to our school year. If you’ve ever thought about joining a club or stepping into leadership, now is the perfect time; the activities advisor can help you find the right fit. Mrs. Amora is very determined to make her years at Ferguson the best years for students to connect and take part in where they belong. She believes there’s a place for anyone and everyone. She is planning to add more clubs and events that will interest all students.

Finally, especially for our upperclassmen, we’re welcoming a new cap counselor. Graduation may seem far away for some, but it’s never too early to start preparing for the big day. The cap counselor will help guide seniors through important steps leading up to graduation. From ordering caps, gowns, and tassels. In answering questions about ceremonies and deadlines. This new role is about making sure seniors feel confident and prepared as they approach this milestone. With their support, the Class of 2026 can look forward to a smooth journey toward walking across the stage.

Together, these new staff members bring energy, care, and enthusiasm to our school. They’re here not just to do their jobs but to be part of our community—cheering us on, guiding us, and making this year memorable. So, when you see them in the hallways, don’t be shy; say hello, introduce yourself, and help them feel as welcome as they make us feel. Here’s to a year full of growth, fun, and new connections.
