A Morning to Remember for the Class of 2026

Seniors attended a treasured event on the 23rd: the annual senior breakfast at Jungle Island. The theme for the exciting brunch was ‘La Dolce Vita’, and everyone was dressed in formal attire to match the occasion.

The experience began when the buses – 10 in total – arrived at Jungle Island around 10 AM. From there, students took photos from the picturesque balcony overlooking the park’s trees and Biscayne Bay in the distance. The dining options in the ballroom were among the morning’s focal points.

The offerings included French eggs, bacon, waffles, muffins, croissants, and other breakfast staples. There was also an espresso bar, where students could order a cup of coffee with different flavors like toasted marshmallow and coconut, as well as different kinds of milk.

Additionally, seniors had the chance to take photos in front of a themed backdrop. The photos were printed into a flipbook that they could keep as a souvenir with their friends. “I’m really glad I got to go and have fun with my friends. The photos came out super cute,” says Alejandra Caso, 12.

The centerpiece was the senior superlatives. The candidates campaigned for weeks ahead of time for categories like High School Sweethearts, Attached at the Hip, and Social Butterfly. Once the winners were announced, they received a special sash.

“Winning High School Sweethearts with my boyfriend felt like such a special moment for both of us and was a reminder of how much we’ve both grown. It made me really grateful to have had someone by my side all this time and to continue supporting each other as we look toward whatever the future has in store,” said winner Amalia Lopez.

Now that the senior picnic and breakfast have passed, we can look forward to the next senior activities: Grad Bash in April, and prom and graduation in May.
