The 2026 Ferguson’s Got Talent Show

This past week Ferguson hosted their annual talent show where students conveyed their talents to a diverse audience full of students, parents, and faculty. Every year, students get this opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and showcase their talents whether it’s something traditional or not.

Naturally, each student performing had to take some sort of preparation. It is very nerve-wracking to go and stand up in front of a stage, highlighting something in front of hundreds of people, but these students excelled in doing so. ‘’Being able to perform at Ferg’s Got Talent was truly an honor,’’ said senior Juan Zapata, ‘’My rehearsals consisted of memorizing choreography and remembering lyrics.’’ Juan spent countless minutes preparing himself for this performance, dedicating himself to it while managing academics. When watching the pieces from different students, it was very evident that they performed with confidence and practiced day in and day out.

‘’Watching the talent show was very entertaining for multiple reasons. I really enjoyed seeing the people I go to school with display their talents and engage with crowds. Seeing everyone perform inspired me to be braver and maybe even sign-up next year,’’ Junior Lia Vives-Solano said. Performances like these encourage people who may be afraid to take risks to get out there. When you step out on a stage like that, the only thing on anybody’s mind is their performance; everything else tunes out.

‘’They seemed to like our introduction,’’ said senior Andres Rey, ‘’I wasn’t too focused on the crowd.’’ This shows that if you’re doing what you love and are self-assured, other people’s thoughts do not matter. Everybody is already anticipating the next Ferg’s Got Talent, eagerly awaiting the new talents to come from our students.
