A Quick Look Into the 2024 Met Gala
Traditionally, on the first week of May, the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts the star-studded Met Gala every year. This event is highly anticipated amongst celebrities and fashion enthusiasts. Following the elegant dress code of “The Garden of Time,” which stems from the exhibit “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” designers and celebrities flaunted unique and memorable outfits.
‘Challengers’ star Zendaya stunned fans by revealing two enchanting outfits. Her first look was a custom Maison Margiela green, black, and blue dress that symbolized an unfinished painting with Maison Margiela-inspired makeup to match her dress. Her second look was an extremely long fully black gown with a literal bouquet as her hat.
As many recall, Doja made headlines after dressing as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat at last year’s Met Gala. Doja decided to keep up with her reputation, doing an iconic look this year. She stood out with her fresh-out-the-shower look, wearing a skintight, sheer white fabric, paired with runny mascara. Her creativity and boldness qualify her to be amongst the more highly mentioned celebrities of the night.
Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky complimented each other wonderfully as they posed together in their outfits. Chris wore a three-piece cream Tom Ford suit while Elsa wore a beautiful gold gown.
Lana Del Rey made an appearance in a striking and dramatic dress this year. Her custom Alexander McQueen dress was inspired by Mother Nature, complete with a headpiece made of sticks that held up a mosquito net.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian’s look garnered attention for all the wrong reasons. Many observed that Kim appeared uncomfortable throughout the event. Her dress featured a corset that gave her body an unrealistic and unnatural appearance.
Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, opted for a classic Prince and Princess look at the Met Gala in their Christian Dior outfits. Matt wore a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, while Luciana wore a cream-colored strapless gown.
Cardi B may have been late to the Met Gala, but her look did not disappoint. She made quite an entrance in a huge black gown that required several assistants to help her navigate the event.
Charli XCX chose a retro-inspired look for the event, revealing that her dress was crafted from shirts dating back to the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
This year’s Met Gala featured numerous iconic moments and outfits, and the celebrities certainly did not disappoint!
