Chromakopia: New Album and World Tour by Tyler, The Creator
After nearly five years, the creative musical genius Tyler, The Creator officially released a new album on October 28, featuring fresh and unheard songs. The record, “Chromakopia,” carries a dark vibe that we hadn’t seen before coming from Tyler, and includes collaborations with unexpected artists that left everyone in shock.
On Monday, when the new album was released, Ferguson students, including myself, constantly discussed our favorite songs and how spectacular the album was overall. Many people in our school and online talked about the track “Sticky,” which features artists GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne. This song seems to be going viral on multiple social media platforms, specially TikTok, as no one expected this particular combination of artists. Although “Sticky” is also receiving a fair amount of criticism, it appears to be a favorite for many listeners.
Many fans, particularly his long-time supporters, were hoping for an appearance from Frank Ocean on “Chromakopia” and felt disappointed when he did not appear on any of the tracks. However, while this may have let some people down, it does not detract from the standout features, such as those by Daniel Caesar, who contributed to multiple tracks, or the overall quality of the tracklist.
Multiple people are paying attention to the songs “Judge Jury” and “Rah Tah Tah,” which are also my personal favorites. “Hey Jane” is a storytelling song that has resonated with listeners, especially since Tyler has several songs in that style and often surprises everyone by addressing sensitive topics. Fans are very pleased with the variety and diversity of the songs Tyler has released.
After releasing his album, Tyler, The Creator announced the dates and locations for his upcoming world tour. This tour will cover various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Tyler will perform alongside famous rapper Lil Yachty and the hip-hop group, Paris Texas. Fans are thrilled at the opportunity to see these amazing artists live and experience “Chromakopia” in person.
This album has made a significant impact to the end of this year and has brought joy to both long-time and new fans who are excited to hear Tyler back in the studio making music. We all look forward to attending the incredible tour and performances he will create in live arenas filled with people who enjoy his music. Although the album has just been released, we can’t wait to see what more this amazing and generational artist, Tyler, The Creator, has in store for us.
