First Day Traditions

The first day of school is exciting for all students, but they all celebrate them differently.

Seniors have a variety of different traditions like decorating their senior crown with their graduating year. Another tradition that they like to participate in is also decorating their pair of senior jeans. Everyone’s senior jeans are different and unique to each student, showing off their personality and interests on the first day. Some trending themes are putting characters from their childhood shows and movies on it, showing their interest when it was their first days of school. Another way seniors show their school spirit is by wearing children’s bookbags for their senior year.

Juniors have the one tradition which is making their Junior J. They usually pick a theme and paint it corresponding with said theme. They put their names, graduation year, and tie it around their neck, wearing it to represent that they are now upperclassmen.

For the sophomores, there’s been a new concept. To celebrate being in 10th grade, the sophomores were encouraged to essentially do the same as the juniors and paint their 10s with a specific theme

The freshmen class of 2030 does not have a lot of traditions but they still contribute to the school’s pride. They get up on the first day of school in a new environment with new faces and opportunities. Happy to show their new Falcon pride. The excitement of students picking out their uniforms and arriving early to school and see all of their friends and comparing each other’s schedules to see what classes you have is the most exciting part of the day and overall makes it so enjoyable. Even though the first day can be stressful, these traditions can make it special. They create memories that students can look back on and remember how each school year started.
