Movie-Filled Month of February

With the start of February and the Spring season coming around, many great movies are going to be released, and just in the nick of time for Valentine’s Day. With a date in mind and popcorn in hand, here are some movies releasing this month.

Queen of Chess (February 6th , 2026)
A documentary following the greatest female chess player to ever grace the game, Judit Polgar, it follows her story from the beginning. From a young age, she dreams of one day conquering the scene of men’s chess, and after a continuous 15-year battle with the current world champion, Garry Kasparov, she’s finally able to overtake him. She revolutionizes the chess culture and becomes not only one of the best chess prodigies of the game, but the best female player. This film serves as not just an inspirational story, but as Judit’s story being shared with the world.

Wuthering Heights (February 13th , 2026)
Wuthering Heights is an upcoming drama-romantic film based on the book of the same name written by Author Emily Bronte. The original story follows Nelly Dean, a servant to the Earnshaw and Linton family, and she retells the tragic love story of Catherine Earnshaw, a daughter of the Earnshaw family, and Heathcliff, a poor orphan boy who lives with the Earnshaws. The film, however, will only be loosely based on the novel. Margot Robbie will be playing Catherine Earnshaw and Jacob Elordi will be playing Heathcliff, and as this romantic classic releases the day before Valentines, it would be a missed opportunity to not take out your date to watch this movie.

Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (February 20th , 2026)
During the production of the Epic Drama film Elvis, which was released in 2022, Co-director Baz Luhrmann unearthed unseen Elvis footage, which served as the basis for the second documentary project. It originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th , 2025, and had its first advanced screenings on January 6 th , 2026, at Elvis’s Graceland Mansion, for what would’ve been his 91 st birthday. It will begin early screenings at IMAX theatres on February 20 th , 2026, before being released to the public a week later on the 27th . For any Rock-and-Roll fans, or anyone interested in music, then this is a film worthy of checking out.

Scream 7 (February 27 th , 2026)
And while Elvis makes a rerun around the world on the 27 th , a new killer puts on the Ghostface mask and continues his legacy. On February 27 th , 2026, a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, and her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all. Neve Campbell will be playing Sidney Prescott, and Isabel May will be playing Sidney’s daughter. For fans of horror in general, or long-time fans of the Scream IP, this film will surely be of great interest.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era (February 27th , 2026)
Now moving onto highly anticipated animated films, there is one that shines the brightest, that of which being Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era. The film is a continuation of the anime series, Umamusume Pretty Derby, which is essentially an animated dramatized retelling of the stories and races of real-life racehorses, such as Special Week, Tokai Teio, Kitasan Black, and Oguri Cap. 2 years after the events of the third season, Upcoming Racer Jungle Pocket is determined to become the fastest horse girl in Japan. Inspired by her idol, Fuji Kiseki, and trained by her veteran trainer, her path seems to be clear and destined for glory until Agnes Tachyon comes around, besting her in the TAMPA HAI SASAI STAKES. After that loss, she’s once again beaten in the SATSUKI SHO by Agnes. Jungle Pocket becomes obsessed with beating Agnes Tachyon, and that obsession becomes the final trial she needs to overcome in order to be the best racer of her era.

Overall, this month is filled with heavy hitters, and while not everyone may be interested in every film coming, at least one of these great titles will be for someone.
