Girls Basketball Takes Down Southwest

The Ferguson girls’ basketball team scored a win against Southwest on Monday, ending the night with a 59-41 win. Right from the whistle, the Falcons displayed a very good energy level on both ends of the floor, which helped them to build a comfortable lead and remain in control of the game the whole time. Quick passes, great shot decisions, and constant solid teamwork were the factors that enabled Ferguson to have the momentum throughout the entire game.

Making a comeback was the plan for Southwest through the defensive pressure, but the Falcons didn’t lose focus and kept breaking through for points. Their defense was very effective to the point that they limited the chances for Southwest and prevented it from closing the gap.

“We were confident and had faith in each other, which made it very easy to keep the lead. Winning this game is a great platform for us to keep our eyes on the goal of improving continually and playing at a higher level in the next game,” said Isabella DeCastro.

With the win, Ferguson is ready for their last game tomorrow against South Dade. The Falcons are very optimistic about keeping their winning streak alive as they go on with their season. Make sure to come and support the team, showing encouragement to finish their season strong.
