Ready! Aim! Goal!
With the season beginning, the boys’ soccer team is getting ready to start playing on the field. Being part of a team is an amazing experience especially in high school. By engaging with sports, the boys are learning about teamwork, communication, and how to accept losses and appreciate wins.
The boys on the varsity soccer team said that they are forming a new family made up of friends that they can trust and communicate with. As for appreciating wins, the team captain has one goal in mind. “It’s been a long time since we’ve had any titles to our name or won districts. So, if there’s one thing I want to do, it’s to bring a title back to the school,”senior Erikk Ordonez said. He hopes to be able to leave his legacy behind as the captain who brought a title back to our school. Many of the athletes on the team see that they’ve also made friendships that will last, and bonds that can’t be broken. “It made me closer to my friends, who became a group of brothers, which gave me a new sense of family,” junior Jonmichael Franchesci said.
Not only did they form strong bonds, they also learned new virtues and tactics that are useful on the playing field and in life. Coach Aguilar made sure to remind them that academics should always be prioritized, they were taught to be responsible while also having fun. Being part of a crew is an amazing experience that the boys’ soccer team clearly enjoys.
The boys’ soccer team has been able to have fun while also learning respect, responsibility, and many qualities that they can apply to the game and their life. While also focusing on their academics, the players are practicing hard for their games because victory is only obtainable with effort and a focused perspective. Being on the team is setting them up to be well rounded adults in the future. The impact that the team has had on the players will prove to be essential in the formation of righteous individuals.
