Senior Picnic
Senior Picnic, which took place at Zoo Miami, has been the buzz of the school all week, the seniors were extremely excited. Until the picnic, the seniors have not had a major event solely for their class, so they were looking forward to this promising occasion.
“I expect to have a nice breakfast environment, and it’s a fun opportunity for me and my friends to get creative with our shirts,” Senior Matthew Arce said.
Stephan De Jesus said that this was a good opportunity to relax after such a stressful months. Many seniors had a challenging junior year, and to no surprise at all, many other students in this year’s graduating class agreed with him.
“It’s our first senior trip… I am very excited because it’s finally coming, and it makes graduation seem so much closer,” Senior Genesis Salgado said.
Unfortunately, Senior Picnic was a reminder to some students, that their last year as a high-schooler had dawned on them and was ending soon. Raquel Lewis addressed that point and said: “I’m not really excited because the year is coming towards the end.”
Throughout the day, seniors played around on various bounce houses, which varied between the themes of gladiator and obstacle courses. Students could also enjoy the rock climbing wall in which many participated. Aside from that, the students had the opportunity to walk around the zoo and observe the animals or just enjoy the park. Then, they could return to the abundance of food that was there waiting for them to indulge in. The day entailed many moments that were not going to be forgotten.
The seniors returned from their trip that same Friday and came back with lifted spirits, all around they had a spectacular time with each other. “Yeah, I had a lot of fun, especially with the bounce house activities, and the animals being out was nice,” Senior Samantha Nazario said.
Another senior Sofia Larzabal commented: “I had fun, though it was hot, so a lot of the groups walked around the zoo. I’ll always remember it because it was so fun.”
Aimee Tolmo added to the mix saying that “we walked around, saw animals, played and fought in the bounce house, and climbed the wall. I think I’ll remember all the events I did in senior year and look back and enjoy them.”
The bounce houses were definitely a big hit. Senior Justin Gonzalez voiced that “it was a fun experience, the activities that were there were all really entertaining; the basketball game, walking around the zoo, and the rock crawl were some of them. I️ definitely will remember this moment because it was a really good time and I made some memories.” The senior picnic is an incredibly big deal for all seniors involved, and clearly something they will remember forever.
