Taking Flight with Our New Assistant Principal, Stephanie Herris

Our falcon administrative team has opened our wings to warmly welcome Stephanie Herris as our new assistant principal. This important role was entrusted with her for a multitude of reasons; however, it was her deeply rooted determination, understanding, and deep passion for making an impact with her pupils that made her the perfect choice.

Herris has always had a love for teaching, even as a child, she was certain that she wanted to work in the field of education. “I always loved education and teaching, so I was always willing to become a teacher ever since I was young,” she shared. Throughout her life and as she grew older, she began teaching and instantly sparked a lifelong devotion to it. Eventually, she started to comprehend the various aspects of teaching and how it positively impacts other peoples’ lives. With temporary positions as the department chair and as an athletics coach, she discovered that she has a more administrative influence on pupils’ education through her line of work.

Although her time as an assistant principal has only just begun, she is focused on how she can make an impact on our fellow falcons. “During my work I have learned that being an educator is not only to benefit education for students but to help them flourish into adulthood,” Herris reflected. Not only on a disciplinary side but also on a personal level. She wants to influence her scholars to make good decisions and lead their futures with prosperity.

The weight and responsibility of being an assistant principal has proven itself a challenging one. There’s always instances in which things can go wrong and she must face some sort of difficulties, but Herris is not the type to just give up—she’ll go in head strong. “At the end of the day, it’s her sheer will power that always pulls her through any situation and confidently moves her forward,” the article remarks.

Outside of school, you can find her spending time relaxing with a book or meditating. Like many, she also enjoys binge watching TV shows on her couch and drinking tea to unwind after a long day at work. So don’t be too intimidated by her title as an assistant principal, she shares many of traits and hobbies as we do, and more importantly, she’s constantly encouraging goodness: in and outside of her work life.

“My strengths as an assistant principal are my work ethic and my passions as an educator,” Herris proudly shares. Focusing entirely on maintaining a good relationship with us falcons, she aims to steer us onto the right path in life. As she previously mentioned, her work ethics alone just goes to show how determined she is as an assistant principal. All her focus goes into her scholars, making sure they follow the rules and grow as human so they can their proficiently lead on with lives. With her hard work and commitment toward our school, Herris easily helps pave our schools’ future big enough for us to soar onto greater things.

Overall, Herris is a great match and educator for John A. Ferguson. She is deeply committed to ensuring the safety and education of her students, as well as securing a bright future for her falcons. Therefore, she will do everything in her path to encourage her students to do good and to focus on their studies.
