If you’re a student at Ferguson, chances are you’ve had McDonald’s for breakfast more than you should have this school year. Not taking into consideration all the effects that all that greasy junk food does to your body. Eating unhealthy foods constantly is one of the many contributors to being unhealthy and plays a big role in developing obesity. There are many steps one can take to stay fit and healthy that may seem difficult at first but are very effortless once you get used to doing them.

One common way to lose weight and stay healthy is to avoid eating a lot of sugar and processed foods since they are made up of fats and chemicals.  Drinking a lot of water also contributes to keeping you healthy as it helps maintain your body fluids which can help your digestion, absorption, circulation, the creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.

Eating Raw foods like fruits and vegetables since they give you a lot of energy and keep off unwanted pesticides and herbicides. Most steps to stay healthy are simple, but some can be a big challenge to some. They can be conquered by taking it one step at a time and trying different methods.

Staying away from your phone at night can be super beneficial as it helps you get more sleep since your body repairs itself at night while you are sleeping. If you don’t sleep enough it can lead to risks of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.

Being fit is a major way to stay healthy since it contributes to your muscle and bone health and prevents the risk of heart disease, blood cholesterol, diabetes, and hypertension. You can stay fit by doing a lot of cardiovascular exercises such as walking, running, swimming, hiking, and biking. You can also play sports to stay fit since most sports include a lot of movements like running and jumping. Remember to stretch before, during, and after working out as it helps in keeping you pain-free and have a more energy.

Being fit and healthy has a lot of benefits to the body whether that be physically or mentally. Maintaining your body fit and healthy leads to the better version of you, one with a more positive mood, a healthier immune system, and better sleep.
