The Most Beautiful Classroom at Ferguson
The hallways of Ferguson are filled with classroom after classroom, where students spend most of their time. A classroom should be inviting, making students feel comfortable enough to engage in various activities. While some teachers display a poster or two, others put in significant effort to create a welcoming and exciting learning environment.
Students have different ideas about what constitutes a ‘pretty classroom.’ Some believe it doesn’t require flashy decorations, while others think more lights and plants enhance the space. Senior Jason Nunez remarked, “I think Ms. Perez has a really nice classroom; the lights create a pleasant ambiance that fosters relaxation.”
Sophomore Gabriel Burn expressed his admiration for Ms. Sol’s class, saying, “She decorates her room for every holiday, especially Christmas, making it feel so cozy.”
It’s evident that many students value a cozy atmosphere that resembles home rather than a typical school setting. Additionally, having posters with key information helps students remember important concepts. For instance, some math teachers display formula posters to aid students who may forget them.
Students often look forward to classes with teachers who decorate their rooms, as it makes them excited about learning. Ferguson student, Sebastian Nunez, noted, “Ms. Morgan stands out because she has trophies showcasing her accomplishments all around her class.” Such displays can motivate students to strive for their goals.
Research suggests that incorporating bright colors and visuals into a classroom can enhance student engagement. Conversely, classrooms lacking decorations may lead to lower student performance and participation. Let’s see who will elevate their classroom this fall and earn the title of “Prettiest Classroom.”
