The Return of the Ultra Music Festival

After being canceled for the past two years, Florida’s favorite EDM music festival marks its return for 2022. Miami, primarily Bayfront Park, has been a venue for Ultra Music Festival since its foundation in 1999, by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes. The event was held in Collins Park, Miami Beach, where an estimated ten thousand people attended. The festival has evolved from one day to the current three-day event it is now, featuring performances by some of the biggest names in electronic dance music (EDM).

Beyond its home in Miami, Ultra Worldwide is renowned for being the world’s largest festival brand. As of now, it has expanded its presence across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia. It’s deemed popularity throughout Florida has led to its uprising as a global franchise.

Ultra Miami announced their return for the 2022 season, with performances throughout March 25-27. Tickets recently went on sale, including General Admission, Premium General Admission, and VIP level tickets. Starting prices for these tickets are roughly $400 and nearly $1,500 for exclusive admission. The festival’s illustrious popularity has led to pre-sale tickets selling out in under five minutes in previous years.

Aside from the ticket sales, Ultra has announced the performing lineup for the first two days. Ultra has now unveiled its Phase 2 lineup, promising over 200 artists on its stages in Downtown Miami. Among these performers are David Guetta, Kygo, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Armin Van Buuren, and many more eminent artists.

The Ultra Music Festival has been canceled the past two years due to the restrictions imposed by Covid-19. In March 2020, Ultra released a statement regarding the unprecedented issue. “Ultimately, there is no higher priority for us than the health, safety and physical well-being of each of you, together with everyone else involved in the production of the event.” In addition to requiring negative Covid-19 tests and accepting voluntary vaccination records, Ultra will be working closely with local officials who may elect to implement additional screening protocols or other government-issued guidelines to protect public health.

Ultra integrates hyper realities and space travel into its stage structures, assuring an out-of-this-world experience for everybody attending. Among the demographic of this event, there are a lot of young adults, for the age limit is 18 years old. Like other renowned festivals such as Cochella and Tortuga, Ultra is a laid-back event where anyone can indulge in the zestful world of EDM. In previous years, Ultra has even won awards including World’s Best Festival, Best EDM/Dance Festival, and Best Music Event.

Although the past 2 years of adversity may have brought the festival to a halt, the Ultra team has ensured a euphoric debut for it’s 2022 return in Bayfront Park.
