What’s The Deal: Stanley vs. Owala
In the hallways of John A. Ferguson, there’s one thing more common than backpacks: water bottles. Recently, social media has buzzed with water bottle recommendations to help fuel your day. Last year, Stanleys gained quick popularity and were found in every classroom and hall. Almost everyone has one, but this year it looks a little different.
Recently, Owalas have gained popularity, and people are debating whether a Stanley or an Owala is more conventional. People believe that Owalas are easier to bring around than Stanleys and less of a headache because of their simplicity. Others focus on the physical elements of both water bottles, believing that the Stanley cups are more visually appealing and offer greater color selection.
Both water bottles have beautiful designs, and a decorative benefit to Stanley cups is that there are many ways to clothe them. Stanley toppers are straw covers with cute designs that individualize the bottles. Students at Ferguson love the Ferguson logo topper that displays Falcon pride and academic excellence.
So, what’s better? Ferguson students all have their perspectives, but some of them make valid points that have the potential to persuade others. This is especially useful for individuals who have been unsure about which one would be better suited for their needs.
“I enjoy both of the bottles, and I’ve tried both.” Seleste Perez, a freshman, states. “The Owalas are not as easy to clean as the Stanleys, which is why I got rid of mine.”
Although cleaning and maintenance may be a user concern at times, it does not appear to discourage people from supporting the company. Both bottles require heavy cleaning since water bottles are prone to mold, so being able to clean your water bottle efficiently is a valid worry.
“I’ve always been a Stanley fan, but I do believe that the Owalas are more practical.” Maria Dosramos, a freshman, comments. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped my Stanley and wanted to throw it down the stairs since it’s so irritating and big.”
Lugging around such a big bottle can be draining for people because water bottles are not meant to be anchored to your hands. Easiness and comfort are usually a priority for buyers and are deal breakers for most.
Stanelys are larger and more difficult to get around at times, but they are more visually appealing. Meanwhile, Owalas are easier to transport, but less aesthetically pleasing to particular people and offer difficult maintenance. It all depends on the individual and their preferences. So, the ultimate question is: Stanleys or Owalas?
