This Year’s Spooky Fright Night

“Trick or treat!” To indulge in the spooky spirit, Ferguson hosted their annual Fright Night on Thursday, October 27. Halloween spirit was at an annual high, and Ferguson’s courtyard lit up the night with a handful of activities from our dedicated clubs,  trick or treating, and some of the most extravagant costumes we’ve seen yet. 

Highlighting the bond between our Falcon community and their families, everyone came together to enjoy the night surrounded by the lively energy in the air.

While the event is mainly for children from ages 2-10, all families were invited to enjoy the event. The majority of our clubs at Ferguson set up their own tables filled with sweat treats and engaging activities for all to enjoy. 

Many students also came prepared to show off their best costumes, ranging from fairies to ghouls. The Fusion dancers and cheerleaders also performed to some classic Halloween toons and upbeat songs that surely got the crowd in the spirit.

“The preparation for fright night was super exciting because growing up I used to come to this event as the one playing the games, and now I’m running them, so overall it was just thrilling to be part of this event. I really enjoyed fright night and I can’t wait for more events like this!” said freshman, Jielianne Rodriguez.

Many clubs had organized a variety of creative activities for people to participate in throughout the evening! 

The Future Health Professionals (HOSA) made their own skeletons and set up a bean bag toss with pumpkins, and Phi Beta Chi organized a ‘Jurassic Park’ booth with dinosaur themed coloring activities and a grand volcano eruption that had the crowd in awe. 

Fashion Club also put together their traditional “Spooky Catwalk”, where everyone in their costumes got to walk down the red carpet and flaunt their outfits while parents watched them confidently stride across the carpet.

Another hit for the night was the Ferguson FFA booth with their own petting zoo displaying their adorable barn animals, and some were even dressed up in costumes too! The Pre-Med Honors Society had an arts and crafts table, where children got to decorate a ghostly creature, and the Law Honors Society organized a jailbreak-themed hopscotch game. Photo booths with Halloween-themed backdrops and entertaining props were also put up at a few tables.

As the day came to an end, students and children left the event with their bags filled with sweet treats, and ready for Halloween that same weekend. Especially after being in quarantine for nearly 2 years, Fright Night was the perfect opportunity to get out and socialize as a community after such a long time. Throughout the night, children were able to dance, trick or treat, and engage in exciting games, and they all left with big smiles on their faces.
