A Glowing Start to an Exciting School Year
Last Friday, Ferguson’s gym was the scene of an exhilarating pep rally, marking the thrilling debut of the new school year. The event celebrated the football team’s impressive 30-0 victory over Felix Varela Senior High, showcasing athletic prowess and igniting the crowd’s enthusiasm.
The white-out theme encouraged everyone to dress in white, and thanks to the creative efforts of the SGA board, the pep rally lit up with glow-in-the-dark decorations, elevating the crowds energy.
The celebration began with an energetic performance by the marching band, whose lively music set an upbeat tone. The cheerleaders and Fusion troupe followed with mesmerizing routines and stunts, showcasing their hard work. Their high-energy performances drew loud cheers and applause from the audience.
“It was a bittersweet moment because performing is the best feeling in the world, but in the back of my mind, I knew that it was one of my last times getting to do it.” Jazlyn Haramboure, senior co-captain of Fusion, reflects.
A standout feature of the pep rally was the spirited participation from our Falcons. Dressed in white and glowing brightly under the special lights, they cheered loudly, making their pride in Ferguson abundantly clear.
“I won’t lie, it made me sad to hold up one finger during the alma mater, but more than that, I was excited and proud of how far SGA and Senior Board have come.” Gabriella Garcia, senior class president, shares. “I’m eager to see what else we will accomplish this school year.”
The success of the event set the stage for future events. With the excitement for the Falcon’s homecoming game against Coral Reef’s Barracudas already building, it’s evident that Ferguson is on track to another year of strong spirit. The pep rally also teased this year’s homecoming theme, “Falcons Fever,” promising a spirited and enthusiastic celebration ahead.
