Falcon Girls Basketball Show Coral Gables Who’s Boss With Commanding Win
Following their presiding win over Goleman the week before, the Falcons Girls Basketball Team was looking forward to extending their winning streak with another authoritative win. The team faced Coral Gables on February 6th at the Cage, taking over the game from start to finish with a final score of 73-29.
“We expected more of a fight from Coral Gables.” Shooting Guard Cecilia Rodriguez, senior, says. “However, from the start of the game, we were winning the game with ease.”
Working diligently together, the team set the tone for the game at the very beginning. They took a lead early on in the game, making it difficult for their rivals to catch up with them. They didn’t let their confidence slow them down, continuing to push hard until the end.
“I’m so proud of our team and the way we performed.” Wing/Shooting Guard Stephanie Perez, junior, says. “Although we came in with lots of confidence, we underestimated how well we would play. I wouldn’t want to play with any other team.”
The Falcons continue to prove why they are a force to be reckoned with. Their performances week in and week out go to show the work they put in during the offseason and throughout the year. The Falcons Girls Basketball Team is eager to add a fourth game to their winning streak even further against Palmetto Senior High on Friday, February 7th at The Cage. Make sure to go out and support The Falcons as they continue their powerful run.
