Falcons Soar Past Bulldogs on Senior Night
With spirit and determination, the Falcons soared to victory on the field against the Bulldogs! On Friday, September 26, Ferguson’s varsity football team faced off against the Braddock Bulldogs. The game took place in Tropical Park, with the theme being U.S.A. The stands were filled with fans dressed in red, white, and blue as they cheered and showed support for their teams. Friday night was not just any regular game; it was senior night, where the upperclassmen were honored and celebrated for their dedication throughout the years.
Braddock and Ferguson have experienced their share of wins and losses, but this matchup proved to be a major victory for Ferguson. “It was senior night, which made me emotional, but my only objective was to beat Braddock, and I’m very proud of the team and myself for doing so,” said senior quarterback Ryan Ramirez. With a final score of 57–21, Ferguson broke the scoring record with eight touchdowns, four of them scored by Ryan.
The Falcons managed to gain a total of 400 yards, outpacing Braddock’s 250 yards. This win improved Ferguson’s season record to 2–1. “The game against Braddock was a complete team effort with everyone contributing. This game is an example of how we’re going to be playing for the rest of the season,” added Coach Chew.
Outside linebacker Raul Peralta also shared his pride in the team’s performance: “I’m proud of the boys for winning the game. Honestly, we ended up sweeping Braddock. That’s what we’ve been striving for this whole time, but the grind never stops, and we’re going to continue to play just as strong every single week.”
Congratulations to the seniors on their determination and dedication, not only in this game but throughout their high school years. This game is proof that with strong teamwork and spirit, the Falcons can overcome any challenge. For their next matchup, Ferguson will go head-to-head against Miami Beach on the field.
