Top Snacks at the Ferguson Food Stand
Be it a salty bag of chips or sour pack of candies, sometimes a snack is all you need to get through a long day. Luckily, Ferguson offers a food concession stand right by the cage. All types of food varying from ramen, sweets, drinks, and chips are offered, ranging from $1 to $3. The question is, which snack is the best? We interviewed 5 falcons who considered taste, amount of product, price, and enjoyment when making their choice; here’s what they said.
Starting with our first interviewee, senior Lorena Fernandez shared: “Obviously, cosmic brownies are the best. The nostalgia and yummy chocolate I get every time I buy one always make my day. I like Sour Patches, too, but I think they’re too bitter to be ranked number one.” She brings a strong point, as nostalgic childhood snacks will always taste a little better, and sometimes, sour snacks do not bring warmth the way others do.
Senior Maria Dieguez, however, argues against these claims. She said, “Nostalgia is great, but I definitely don’t like the same things I did when I was 10. The more I grow up, the more I realize Cosmic Brownies are overrated. Sour Patch Kids are forever the yummiest snack.”
Many students answered that Sour Patch Kids were their favorite; however, some said soda was their top choice. Junior Andrea Sanchez said, “Even though I bring my own snacks because I feel like buying a snack every day is too much for me, I’ll always buy a Sprite; that’s my guilty pleasure.”
This ties it all into the original question: what is the best snack at the food stand? Truthfully, there is no way to objectively answer that question. For instance, salty and sweet is a combo that, when combined, is impossible to rank.
At the food stand, however, certain sweet treats cost $2, while salty snacks cost $1. Looking at it statistically, 57% of people prefer salty snacks over sweet ones. When it comes down to it, the true answer to the question can only be answered by an individual’s opinion. Maybe Maria believes the ultimate best snack is Sour Patch Kids, but that doesn’t weaken Lorena’s argument either.
Thankfully, the choice is entirely up to the consumer, and the food stand holds no biases. Whenever you’re craving a snack during 1st or 2nd lunch, don’t hesitate to stop by the concession stand by the gym and pick up whatever you crave.
