Pumpkin Spice Season: The Long-Awaited Flavor Returns
That time of year has returned, filled with the scent of cinnamon and oranges in all the decorations. The lingering question of what you’ll dress up as for Halloween remains. Many consider this season one of the best. The weight of your blanket as you snuggle up to watch a marathon of classic movies. Festivities are everywhere—whether it’s in the streets, schools, at home, or at the store. Restaurants start making spooky specials. The sun begins rising a little later—that’s when you know fall has arrived.
In Miami, we might not have the orange leaves falling to the ground with everyone wearing scarves and coats like in the movies, but our fall is just as memorable. Getting involved in these events can make this autumn unforgettable for you.
Restaurants: Starbucks’ beloved fall menu is making a comeback this year with a few new additions, such as a new tiramisu latte. There’s a secret menu where you can order a Frappula or Jack Skellington Frappuccino by specifying the ingredients. Dunkin’ Donuts is also bringing back its iconic fall menu with its own new additions, like the Cereal ‘N Milk Latte. Their exciting Halloween menu launches on October 15 and is definitely worth trying.
Retail: Fall discounts are happening now at Dolphin Mall, including stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, Pandora, Cosmetics Company Store, Michael Kors, Spirit Halloween, Bath & Body Works, and many others—all offering sales. These products can elevate the fall spirit, especially when decorating your space.
Festivities: On September 27, from 6 PM to 10 PM, the Cutler Bay Hispanic Heritage Celebration will take place. There will be live salsa and mariachi bands, as well as a DJ. Delicious cuisine will be available from various food trucks. This event honors Hispanic heritage with the community, and yes, there will be activities for kids.
From September 16th to November 9th, the Berry Farm’s Harvest Festival will be happening. They feature a 5-acre corn maze suitable for all ages. Pumpkins are a must for the spooky season, and Berry’s Farm has just what you need. With a pumpkin patch for sale and photo-ready spots, you can pick the perfect pumpkins for a fun hangout with friends or family. Kids can enjoy hayrides and play zones. Vendors’ markets will be held every weekend in October, and on October 25 and October 31, from 7 PM to 11 PM, they will host a country Halloween party with a costume dress code. Other events like Oktoberfest and harvest festivals will take place across different counties.
The fall spirit is always strong, especially when you get involved with your community. Even participating in your school’s spirit week can give you that satisfying feeling of involvement. Will you join any of these activities this year?
