Girls Softball Exceptional Victory Over Braddock
The Girls Softball team is determined to keep their season going after their huge win against their rivals, the Braddock Bulldogs. In a notable victory of 22-7, they’re beginning to turn the season around. The girls currently hold a record of 3-8-1 and anticipate to keep their momentum going as the season progresses.
The girls relied on each others’ skills in order to take home the win.
“The Braddock game was challenging; we had tied them the last time we played them. We practiced and hustled harder than any before to get this win,” shares Emely Ramirez. ”She obtained this award by achieving a batting percentage of .400, on base average of .400, and 2 hits. One outstanding play of the game was when Braddock’s batter tipped up the ball and our catcher, Nathalia Salvat, caught the ball and made the out.”
A thrilling display of skill and teamwork was also shown in their back-to-back games against South Dade, achieving victory with scores of 12-1 and 23-8.
“It felt amazing to beat South Dade on their own field and ours. The team did amazingly great plays, amazing teamwork, and we had trust in each other,” shares Senior Outfielder, Kiara Perez-Dominguez. ”Amaya Santana hit a clutch triple, lending a helping hand to one of the South Dade games.”
The team continues to put in extraneous effort in keeping their trend of victories. With each game, their team chemistry strengthens, receiving great memories in exchange. The girls are expected to face Southwest next Tuesday.
