Girls Varsity Softball Plays In an Unpredictable Start to the Season
The Girls Varsity Softball team had an exceptional start to their season with a celebrated win against their rival team Braddock.
The final 13-8 score of the season opener included our Lady Falcons having a balanced attack on them as they outscored Braddock in all but one inning, and even held them scoreless for 2.
This could have been seen as a surefire momentum-starting game that would serve as a driving force for the team to start racking up wins to start the season. However, that same energy did not translate to the next game.
This Tuesday, they lost in disappointing fashion to Coral Reef. The final score of 16-1 reflects how unfortunate their performance was. Our Lady Falcons gave up 9 unanswered in just the first inning and could not seem to recover since.
Ever since the loss, the team has had a .500 record, with the most recent game being an uplifting blowout against Varela.
With an overall record of 2-2, the team has had major ups and downs to the start of the season, but with their aforementioned win last week there’s hope that they can once again start picking up their record.
Go Falcons!
