Lady Falcons Gear Up For Thrilling Season

The Lady Falcons Varsity Softball team is preparing to hit off their spring season with two preseason games on February 11th and 13th. Following weeks of hard work and preparation, the girls are ready to show off their talent against the Archbishop Coleman Carroll Bulldogs.

“I am excited to play against the Bulldogs.”  Center Outfielder Briana Canahuate, senior, says. “The girls have been practicing hard and we are ready to see what they have improved in.”

With the new season, Coach Del Rosario decided to introduce multiple underclassmen to the team as she believed that it would benefit both their season and interactions. Without missing a beat, the girls adjusted well to the team and excelled during practices, justifying their place on the team. With hours of sweat and hard work, the girls are nothing but confident in their abilities for the upcoming season.

“I love my underclassmen, they have been a huge improvement and addition to the team. They make the team happier and better which we love and appreciate them for.”  Pitcher Ashley Barroso, senior, says.

The preseason games will serve as a valuable test before the official season openers, giving the softball team time to tweak their strategies and executions. These games will also be a clear indicator of their season to come.

“I am so excited to play  because I know that this year, our team is stacked with skillful players who are willing to put 110% effort into this year’s season.” Second Base, Andreaneliz Riviera, senior, states. “I know our records are going to be good. I can feel it.”

With anticipation growing as the first preseason game approaches, the girls are continuing to work as hard as possible on their individual and team performance. They will be playing their first game at Braddock this Tuesday, February 11th. Don’t miss the start of a great season.
