Transforming Santa’s Enchanted Forest Into a Christmas Wonderland

After 40 years, the annual Christmas event, “Santa’s Enchanted Forest,” has officially closed and shut down permanently. The park closed back in 2024, with announcements that it would not be returning this year. Since Santa’s Enchanted Forest is now closed, it will be replaced this year by a new event called “Christmas Wonderland,” which is similar to its predecessor and will also take place at Tropical Park.

Santa’s Enchanted Forest was a holiday theme park located in Miami, Florida, known for its rides, shows, and attractions. The park was a yearly Christmas event, offering festive shows, numerous rides, carnival games, food trucks, and plenty of fun for friends and family to enjoy.

Sophomore Isabel Diaz commented, “That’s honestly crazy, but to be honest, I’m not that sad because I have only gone once. Still, I’m very surprised it’s closed for good.”

The closure of Santa’s Enchanted Forest was due to the dissolution of its operating company. The primary reasons for this included the loss of its long-time location, an inability to secure a new venue, and ultimately, the company’s closure. Miami-Dade County refused to renew the park’s lease at Tropical Park, and Santa’s Enchanted Forest was unable to find a suitable new location, leading to the permanent shutdown.

Sophomore Adrian Ruiz shared, “I used to go a lot when I was younger, so hearing it’s now closed is honestly sad. Even though it’s getting replaced with Christmas Wonderland, it won’t be the same.”

Although we are receiving a new event called “Christmas Wonderland,” it likely won’t have the same feel as Santa’s Enchanted Forest. Many adults, kids, teenagers, and families created lasting memories there, making it a truly special Christmas event.
