New Year Resolutions
Every year, people across the world welcome January with a list of resolutions to become healthier, and more productive, and get into the habits that promote a happier lifestyle. As we kick off the new school year, our Falcons are getting ready with some awesome New Year’s resolutions!
Some things that Falcons might focus on this year include improving their study habits and managing their time wisely by cutting procrastination. Strategies that can help with this involve staying organized. By planning and staying disciplined, students can make study time more productive, reduce stress about school deadlines, and achieve their academic goals with greater ease.
“One resolution I have is to continue to do well in school.” Elizabeth Sobrano, junior, states. “I plan to do this by managing my time wisely and making sure to not procrastinate as much.”
Others are committing to getting more involved in extra-curricular activities. This means participating in more clubs, sports, and community service outside of school hours. Getting involved offers numerous benefits, such as making new friends, expanding one’s resume for college applications, and finding joy in school life. “
Setting health goals is another common resolution for many. Prioritizing sleep, going on a new diet, and going to the gym are examples of what setting health goals may look like. Each are key steps that students can take to improve their well-being. These changes can boost both physical and mental health, leading to higher energy levels and greater enjoyment of daily life.
“To set me off on the right foot, for my resolutions, I am thinking about getting active and going to the gym.” Senior, Alex Correa, states. “It would be a huge change for me, but one that I am willing to do to set a new precedent for my health.”
In addition to personal goals, being kind and supporting others are also important resolutions. By showing encouragement and being friendly, students can contribute to a more positive school environment. Creating a culture of kindness makes it easier for everyone to build friendships, collaborate, and feel valued as part of the community.
Planning for the future is on the minds of many students, especially seniors. As graduation approaches, they may start setting goals related to their next steps, such as exploring college options, considering career paths, and developing the skills they’ll need beyond high school. By setting these goals early, students can prepare themselves for a smooth transition into the next chapter of their lives.
These resolutions are just a few ways that Falcons and people everywhere are pushing for personal growth this new year. Whether it’s hitting the gym more often, focusing more on your academics, or learning a new skill, these annual goals symbolize fresh starts and second chances. Happy New Year, Falcons!
