Fresh Falcons Set Out to SeaWorld

As a Freshman in Ferguson, one of the most anticipated events of the year is the annual SeaWorld field trip that occurred on April 14th. For many students, this was their first time visiting the park and experiencing its many activities. From the thrilling roller coasters to the educational exhibits, SeaWorld offers something for everyone.

This trip for our students includes transportation on the bus to the park and back, an entrance pass, and one meal at the park. Including the class shirt, the trip totaled $165, but you had to bring money for snacks!

To be able to go on the class trip, you must have been cleared at school in Room 50, the Attendance Office.

The day begins early as the falcons gather at the school at 4:45 A.M to board the buses for the trip to the park. The excitement is palpable as everyone chats with friends and prepares for a day of fun and adventure. The bus ride is filled with anticipation and laughter as students bond together.

Upon arrival at SeaWorld, students are free to explore at their leisure. Many choose to start with the signature attraction, the Orca show. The impressive display of the killer whale’s acrobatic abilities never fails to impress, and students are often seen cheering and clapping as the massive creatures leap and splash in the water.

Other popular attractions include the Manta roller coaster, where riders experience twists and turns while flying through the air like a giant manta ray, and Infinity Falls, which feels like you’re going down a harsh river with a splashdown finale that leaves riders drenched.

In addition to the rides, SeaWorld also offers a range of educational exhibits, including the Penguin Encounter and the Shark Encounter. These exhibits provide students with the opportunity to learn about these amazing creatures and their habitats.

Perhaps the most memorable part of the day, however, is the time spent with friends. “My favorite activity was hanging out with my friends while strolling through the park,” exclaimed Jianna Rodriguez. Whether riding roller coasters together or simply walking around the park, the SeaWorld field trip provides an excellent opportunity for freshmen to bond and make new friends.

As the day comes to a close, students gather together at the front of the park before boarding the buses for the return trip to school. The ride back is often filled with tired but happy students, who spend the time reminiscing about the day’s adventures and making plans to return to the park in the future. Ryan Truong remarked, “My favorite part of the trip was the bus ride on the way back; everyone is tired, so it is a very calming and soothing ride back after riding many exhilarating rides.”

The annual Sea World field trip is a highlight of the freshman year for many
Ferguson students. With its mix of thrilling rides and educational exhibits, as well as the opportunity to spend time with friends, the trip offers something for everyone. It is an experience that students will remember for years to come as they progress through high school.
