Top 5 Movies You Can’t Miss This November
These new film releases have been the hot topics of this month. November is replete with family gatherings and togetherness. As people begin preparing for the holidays and reclining their seats for vacation, these films have been the most watched and highly regarded.
1. The Lost Bus (October 3)
This movie was released in select theaters on September 19, 2025, and began streaming globally on October 3, 2025, on Apple TV+. The film is based on a true story of survival during the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, California. The Lost Bus is a survival drama/thriller that recounts the true story of a school bus driver and a teacher who risked their lives to save 22 children from the deadliest wildfire in California history. The film, directed by Paul Greengrass, focuses on the harrowing journey of the group as they navigate a school bus through the fire, smoke, and chaos to reach safety.
2. Frankenstein (October 17)
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein was released in a limited theatrical run on October 17, 2025, and became available on Netflix on November 7, 2025. The film stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the Creature, with Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz in supporting roles. Critics are divided, with praise for the stunning visuals and emotional depth, but some criticism for a slow pace and inconsistent tone.
3. Predator: Badlands (November 7)
Follows an outcast young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) who teams up with a damaged synthetic ally named Thia (Elle Fanning) to hunt a more formidable monster on a remote planet. People loved the new perspective that made the Predator the hero and the unlikely but fun dynamic between the two protagonists. Critics’ scores on Rotten Tomatoes are high, with the film debuting at an 87% critics’ score.
4. The Running Man (November 14)
Directed by Edgar Wright and starring Glen Powell, the movie currently holds a critics’ score of 61-65% on Rotten Tomatoes. Set in a dystopian 2025, the film is a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King’s 1982 novel than the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger version. The story follows Ben Richards (Glen Powell), a working-class man in a poverty-stricken, corporately-controlled America who, desperate to afford medication for his sick daughter, agrees to become a contestant on the reality TV show The Running Man. On the show, Richards must survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, or “Hunters,” for a billion-dollar cash prize, all while his every move is broadcast to a bloodthirsty public.
5. Wicked: For Good (soon-to-be-released)
Wicked: For Good will be released on November 21, 2025, and is described as a darker, more emotional musical that concludes the story of Elphaba and Glinda. The film features Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. Critics praise the performances, especially Erivo’s and Grande’s, and the emotional weight of the story, though the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score is currently lower than the first movie’s. Even before its release date, the movie has garnered outstanding attention.
