College Acceptance Season is Right Around the Corner!
With Seniors graduating in just a matter of weeks, they have begun to pour all of their efforts into the inevitable process of applying to college. A plethora of students have dreams of attending distinguished Ivy League institutions or simply somewhere to study and live out their passions. Regardless, at John A. Ferguson, our Falcons have already been accepted to colleges in-state and around the country!
“University of Florida has always been a dream school for me since it’s the closest university to home that has a dentistry program,” says Samantha Jimenez. She applied to Florida International University, University of Florida, and Nova Southeastern University, and was accepted into FIU and NSU.
Randy De Peña wanted to attend Nova Southeastern due to their convenient location and their reputation as one of the leading schools in nursing. However, he applied and stuck with Miami-Dade College as “it’s starting to take the lead as one of the better colleges to attend for its academic excellence and affordability.”
Megan Gomez, with a ton of options, was accepted into University of Florida, Nova Southeastern, Miami-Dade, Florida International University, and Barry University. “NSU has been my dream school because I’ve grown up there and they have great nursing opportunities,” she states.
In Grace Ieremia’s case, she was scouted by multiple in and out-of-state colleges such as Albany State, University of Georgia, Barry University, Taylor University, and Carson-Newman University for her passion in volleyball. She recalls never having a dream college but was “determined to study somewhere where I felt like I belonged,” which in her case was Carson-Newman University in Tennessee.
In the end, what matters is pursuing one’s dreams. Regardless of the college in which you were accepted, your next choice may become an integral part of the next few years!
