Ferguson Track Chasing Records and Building a Legacy
The Ferguson track is showing why we’re one of the top programs in the history of the school. Goals are being chased, times are dropping, and the work put in at practice is finally showing up in the meets, especially when it matters most.
Senior Emmanuel Ospina was the main character in one of the biggest moments of the season. “I led with the #2 all-time mark in Ferguson history, and I had no clue until my teammates told me I went through in 50 seconds. I was fine with being number 2, but I felt like I could have gotten the number 1 spot as well. The top 4 in the meet gave me a lot of satisfaction in achieving my goal, and I’m very thankful to my coach. For the future, I’m aiming at that #1 spot, which means breaking the 400 and 200 records and becoming the best sprinter in the school’s history.”
The other senior, Samuel Beaulaurier, was not left behind this season. “By bringing the competitiveness I showed in each practice rep into race execution, I was able to run the 5th fastest time in Ferguson history.”
Together, Emmanuel and Samuel have left a legacy that goes beyond time and records. They have helped shape a culture where athletes hold each other accountable, celebrate each other’s success, and push one another through every workout, even when it’s hard.
Moments like these demonstrate that the Ferguson track has been built on hard work, self-belief, and the spirit of pushing each other to be the best every single day.
