Miami Dolphins’ Questionable Start to the Season
The Miami Dolphins went into Sunday afternoon with high hopes after acquiring new players, Byron Jones and Tua Tagovailoa, during the offseason. However, their opponents this game, the Patriots, lost their franchise quarterback, Tom Brady, and they spent a lot of money and draft capital on the offensive and defensive line.
Even with new athletes in their corner the Dolphins’ optimism soon went downhill after the poor play of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick went 20-30 for 191 yards and 3 crucial interceptions. The Patriots were led by Cam Newton as he had a great game on the ground, going for 75 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns. As the match continued, Newton was also very accurate, going 15 for 19 and 155 yards. The Patriots ended up dominating the game as Cam Newton was an unstoppable force in the field. They went on to win the game 21-to-11.
The Dolphins go back to Miami for their first home game on Sunday afternoon to face the Buffalo Bills. With the current score 0 – 1, The Dolphins need to play better on offense for a chance to win against Buffalo, including Ryan Fitzpatrick who needs to lower his interception ratio quickly, as Tua Tagovailoa is healthy and ready to go at any minute. The Dolphins need to limit Josh Allen in the run game so they don’t have a repeat of week 1.
