Falcons Fly Past Southwest with a Victory
The Ferguson Football Team maintained its momentum with a dominant win over Southwest on Thursday, September 18th. The Falcons took control from the opening kickoff and never let up, cruising to a 42-6 victory on their home field.
“We came out strong, played as a team, and set the tone early. Beating Southwest 42–6 shows what we can do, but we’re already focused on the next game,” said senior wide receiver Brandon Tagle. From the very first series, Ferguson’s energy was impossible to ignore. The offense moved the ball with confidence, mixing big passing plays with tough runs that kept Southwest’s defense on its heels. Several different players reached the end zone, proving the Falcons’ depth and ability to spread the ball around. On defense, the Falcons were just as dominant, holding Southwest scoreless until the late stages of the game. Tackles in the backfield, forced turnovers, and strong coverage all kept the visitors from building momentum.
“Our team executed well in all phases of the game and established momentum early. The 42-6 win over Southwest reflects our preparation, but our focus remains on continuing to improve for the next games,” said junior running back King Hughes.
Special teams also played a key role, with strong returns setting up short fields and the kicking game adding consistency. Coaches praised the players’ discipline, pointing out that avoiding mistakes and penalties helped Ferguson control the game from start to finish. With the win, Ferguson added another statement to their season. Confidence is growing, teamwork is shining, and the Falcons are proving they’re ready for the challenges ahead.
