Ferguson’s Fright Night: Candy and Community Spirit

Fright Night looms on the horizon! On October 25th, families should prepare for the spookiest night of the year, including various eerie activities hosted by local clubs. Students can partake in traditional Halloween activities, with kids donning elaborate costumes and going trick-or-treating for candy. The unique twist? It all unfolds in Ferguson!

“I would say for us, we like to see returning people from last year’s Fright Nights and catch up with them,” Ms. Rae, the mind behind all school events, shares.  “For the kids that go though, they go to get all the candy they want!” Another benefit of Fright Night is the opportunity for parents to connect with others in the neighborhood.

Despite being primarily for young children, Fright Night welcomes all family members to join in the fun. Ferguson’s clubs set up themed booths, fostering a sense of unity within the community. The event promises excitement for hosts, participants, and attendees alike.

Some may not immediately grasp the appeal of Fright Night, dismissing it as just a children’s event. “Children come back every year for Fright Night because our clubs outdo themselves with the activities they host.” Eliseo Acosta, head representative of SGA, explains. Ferguson’s clubs strive to create elaborate attractions to captivate everyone’s attention.

Fright Night serves as a celebration of community spirit within the backdrop of Halloween. Children leave the event with bags brimming with candy and smiles filled with joy, their spooky or silly costumes adding to the night’s spirit. It’s a remarkable testament to Ferguson’s commitment to fostering community through seemingly trivial yet impactful events. Fright Night is poised for yet another resounding success!
